Assistant Planning Manager Permanent Position Excellent salary/package (Holiday: 25 days + 8 Statutory Days, Pension up to 7% matched, Life Assurance: 5x Basic Salary) Growing Manufacturing Business Birmingham My client are a precision manufacturing business based North Birmingham specialising in machining and assembly of high value low volume components. The Assistant Planning Manager is responsible for ensuring there is a credible and stable production plan. Using the ERP system, they will coordinate the creation and execution of the pro-duction plan, coordinating the relevant functional inputs and outputs. They will also contribute to the S&OP process and other associated planning deliverables. Assistant Planning Manager Job Description Reporting directly to the Planning Manager, acting as second in command, covering managerial duties when needed and providing regular support for other members of the team Responsible for short and midterm planning processes, ensuring a credible and stable plan Work with supply chain, sales, engineering and other relevant departments to: Mitigate risks to the production plan related to programmes and supplier deliveries Ensure plans are executable and they satisfy On Time Delivery (OTD) targets Support the S&OP process and the associated outputs Provide day to day mentoring support for the existing planning team members Create production plans to ensure that OTD is met Maintenance and uploading of information to Seiki (planning software) OEE reporting driven through Seiki Creation of Level Loading plans for machine shop and assembly. Assembly Weekly/Monthly build plans. BOM, and routes of manufacture ensuring the correct material and information are transferred to the works order Assistant Planning Manager Essential Qualifications / Experience / Skills Proven record of success in planning with strong understanding and exposure to operations, engineering, distribution and supply chain Strong engineering/manufacturing background Relevant Planning professional qualifications Experience of working within a results driven environment with skills in managing both core process and bringing a creative and innovative approach Experience of operating within a global manufacturing/ technology business and a balance of working both strategically and operationally Proven track record of change leadership and of delivering results and improved performance combined with the ability to inspire and manage development activity through strong influencing abilityAssistant Planning Manager Essential Qualifications / Experience / Skills Experience working in the Defence or Aerospace industries
