Our client is a leading utility contract services provider and is looking for an enthusiastic Bid Writer to join their Bid Team.The role will be full time with on average 3 days a week in the office. Ideally, the right candidate will have bid experience of 3 yrs minimum with a good understanding of the processes and pressures but whom enjoys the reward & satisfaction of working on high quality, compelling work. You should have good written and verbal communication skills, ideally educated to degree level in a relevant subject matter, e.g. English, Journalism, Creative Writing, Technical/Engineering. You will be re-work existing pre-written content, bringing new ideas undertaking market research for bids and business development and creating general marketing content for award submissions and social media. You will play a vital role in developing and growing the bid function in line with our ambitious growth strategy. Energy and commitment to working within a small team, and independently, is extremely important. For the right individual there is an excellent career progression with an open avenue to promotion. There is training available for more junior Bid Team members looking for a step-up. Overall Purpose of the Role The Bid Writer will be responsible for creating compelling responses and ensuring: • Compliance with the questions asked • Professionally structured answers to maximise ease of reading and award of marks by the evaluator • Clarity of win themes and benefits to the client • Quantifiable evidence that can be referenced to support the proposed solution • Consistency across multiple answers in terms of language and message • Confidence in deploying best practice writing techniques • Proofread and edit responses • Develop the response structure with use of effective headings • Develop content for the knowledge library working with SMEs to ensure that all content is in date and applicable to the service provision. • Manage relationship with SMEs to develop responses • Knowledge management, database & CRM content Person Specification : Outgoing, inquisitive, passionate, organised - with the ability to build relationships with bid teams quickly and effectively. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team, and proactively lead SMEs and operators to support the bid programme by providing essential guidance and information to enable definition of winning bid themes
