Supports the maintenance and operation of the camera system presently installed throughout the NJ TRANSIT Bus fleet. Monitors the performance indicators to determine the health of the system.
Advises garage staff of conditions which require Bus level maintenance. Follows up at garages as needed, and interacts with other internal departments on all cameras related issues.
Develops a standardized process to analyze, test and repair defective components.
Interacts with the OEM on technical issues related to system performance or fleet wide system updates. Conducts tests on proposed changes, and develops plans for fleet implementation.
Ensures spare equipment availability for use at the garages, and verifies that all camera subscriptions are up to date.
Participates in departmental support of the CUBIC fare collection system, Clever Devices Smartbus system and the PowerTrunk radio system.
Manages the Electronic Shop in the absence of the Foreman.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or related field from a US Department of Education accredited college or university, and Two (2) years of experience in electronic engineering technology, Systems Engineering or related disciplines are required. Knowledge of MS Office applications, project management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities are required. Previous experience supervising unionized employees a plus MUST BE AVAILABLE TO BE ON CALL AFTER HOURS
