My client is a long-established and extremely popular French restaurant that offers superb food in historical surroundings within the centre of London. The busy French Bistro with all year round outdoor seating and a number of private dining rooms seating from 10 to 120 are now looking for an experienced and positive Events and Reservations Manager to promote and increase the revenue of all of our large events, PDRs and restaurant bookings.

Overall job purpose:

The Events and Reservations Manager roles duties and responsibilities include:

  • OpenTable Bistro Reservations

  • Private Dining Rooms sales, coordination to delivery

  • Large Events sales, coordination to delivery

  • Client Invoicing and payment reconciliation

  • Function sheets weekly presentation

  • Building the relationship with our regulars and top bookers

  • To support the General Manager/ Head of Sales in successfully creating and delivering business plans, marketing plans and budgets for venue hire

  • Maximise the restaurant's competitive advantage by supporting the sales team in networking, exhibitions, web listings, benchmarking and continually improving our offer in order to generate new business and raise our commercial profile.

Key result areas:

Staff and Workflow Management

  • Effectively recruit, manage, develop and motivate Event Coordinators in support of departmental objectives

  • Effectively manage multiple consecutive projects and meet demanding deadlines, such as website and media entries, exhibitions and familiarisation trips

  • Work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues, contributing to a supportive and positive working environment

Sales Account Management

  • Support the Head of Sales in planning and delivering the business plan and budget, working positively with direct reports and team members towards shared success.

  • Achieve annual sales targets for venue hire and private dining rooms, successfully sourcing and converting sales enquiries and proactively developing key accounts.

  • Continually identify and support sales initiatives which create a competitive edge for the restaurant.

  • Handle client business professionally and persuasively, understanding clients' needs and responding to them with tailored information and timely quotes to maximise conversion rates.

  • Achieve personal sales targets by conducting professional and engaging site visits.

  • Provide the highest standard of customer service at all times to exceed client expectations, inspire word of mouth referrals and strengthen our commercial brand.


  • Manage and create accurate records and generate reports on financial performance, use of venues and other key performance indicators.

  • To undertake such other duties as agreed with the Head of Sales, commensurate with your level, which may be necessary from time to time

Job Title: Events and Reservations Manager

Department: Sales & Marketing

Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Flexibility with working hours will be required

Duration: Permanent

Reports To: General Manager / Head of Sales

Line Manage: 2 x Events Coordinator

Location: Farringdon, London
