REED Talent Solutions are currently recruiting for homelessness support workers in Doncaster. This role is initially a temporary position, for 3 months, based in Doncaster.
The service is a fast-paced environment, and you will need exceptional planning and organisation skills and work well under pressure. Many of our customers lead chaotic lifestyles, often they have a background of offending, addiction and/or mental health. Our customers can quite often be disengaged in accepting support and you will need to think outside the box, adapt and work flexibly to help them succeed.
This person will be working 9-5 Monday to Friday. They will support people in their own homes who have had experience of homelessness or are at risk of homelessness. This is a lone working role carrying a caseload of up to 25 people. The pay rate is £11.95 per hour.
The role includes assisting service users with this and issues such as substance use, mental and physical health, and life skills. You will be involved in ensuring the smooth running of the outreach service and liaising with other staff members to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the service users.
Other roles and responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the delivery of a housing management service, including working with tenancy agreements and collecting rents and service charges.
- Identify concerns regarding property condition, hygiene or hoarding and facilitate plans to support the customer in addressing them.
- Work with customers to address rechargeable repairs and unwarranted damage to property.
- Work alongside customers with a variety of complex needs and support requirements.
An Enhanced children and adults DBS on the Update Service would be an advantage as this is an ASAP start. This is a challenging yet rewarding role for the right person.
