Knowledge Lawyer - Corporate Insurance

The Role

Knowledge plays a critical role within the team given that we undertake both transactional and regulatory work. The role is therefore important to us in ensuring we maintain our market leading knowledge base within the insurance sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analysing and summarising new legal developments relating to the insurance industry and explaining the significance of the change in law to fee-earners
  • Writing client briefings on a variety of legal topics for publication on the Norton Rose Fulbright LLP website and for the Institute portal insurance hub
  • Drafting and reviewing precedent agreements and practice notes relating to insurance industry transactions.

The role will also be part fee-earning. We are looking for a Knowledge Lawyer who will split their time between providing know-how related support to the team as well as carrying out client facing work to ensure they maintain this side of their skill-set to complement their knowledge activities.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Qualified lawyer with significant legal experience in insurance law and regulation and operating at a middle or senior level
  • Experience in horizon scanning activities
  • Experience in drafting complex documents in plain language
  • Experience in designing and delivering successful, interesting and innovative training programmes, targeted to the audience
  • Ability to work with a variety of personalities across all levels of the organisation
  • Experience, or interest, in the collation, storage and delivery of knowledge
  • Project management experience and demonstrated creativity in problem solving
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent legal research skills.
