Job Title: Head of Marketing and Communications Business area: Lucy group Marketing Location: Oxford Job Purpose The purpose of this role is to promote Lucy Group, its activities and achievements via various forms of media and to have the responsibility for communicating that across the Group. You should educate and inspire colleagues, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders through delivering outstanding marketing collateral and engaging communications. The role will be setting the Group s marketing and communications strategy and working with multiple teams to deliver this so senior leadership experience is essential in this critical position. You will have good negotiation and influencing skills as well as experience that includes people leadership of multi-disciplinary and matrix teams. You will also have experience of social media engagement and strategy with up-to-date knowledge of the latest relevant developments and best practice. Job Dimensions This role reports to an Executive Director and is responsible for key elements of Lucy Group s marketing and communications. You will lead the development of an integrated marketing and communications strategy across the Group. This role has the support of two marketing assistants who work on the design and development of multimedia content, as well as social media engagement. The Global Head of Employee Communications and Engagement also reports into this role. This role requires an outstanding communicator and an exceptional team builder with the ability to work well with the marketing and communications teams of the Group s operating businesses. The role holder will form productive working relationships with the communications and marketing teams in the Group s businesses as well as the content champions, and will be able to align and coordinate on key messages both inside and external to the Group, working in a virtual team with all key stakeholders. Job Context Lucy Group has Operating Businesses across multiple sectors: Lucy Controls, Lucy Electric and Lucy Real Estate. The Group creates wide-ranging products, services and solutions for customers across 60 countries in the UK, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America. To support the Operating Businesses, the Group has a number of central services including HR, finance, IT and legal. The role manages and co-ordinates the marketing and communications activities of Lucy Group but is also responsible for coordinating the marketing and communications activities of the Operating Businesses and ensuring they are aligned with group frameworks and branding strategy. Key Accountabilities Working with the Group s Executive Directors to set out the strategy for the Group s marketing and communications. Working with the various heads of Group Central Services as well as the Marcomms teams within the Operating Businesses to effectively communicate Lucy Group s marketing activities, achievements and updates. Collaborating with Lucy Group marketing and communications teams to ensure projects come to fruition. Requires building strong working relationships with all other Lucy businesses, Group central services and managing external agencies. Providing specific hands on support to the businesses as required. Overall responsibility for the Group s intranet, website and social media accounts. Take ownership of the Lucy Group website including the SEO. Through the Global Head of Employee Communications and Engagement, you will be accountable for managing, maintaining and updating content for the Lucy Group website, with the support of the content champions You will monitor and report on website analytics to assess performance. You will ensure consistent messaging on company platforms, both the external facing website and the company intranet. Responsible for maintaining and growing social media accounts for Lucy Group Ltd requirements analysis, content calendar, writing engaging copy, recommending improvements & reporting. Results for social engagement will be monitored against agreed targets to assess performance. You will monitor and measure the effectiveness of all marketing/communications activity You will manage the brand to ensure consistent communication of the organisation s mission and values across all channels and will ensure that the integrity of the brand is always maintained and promoted. This will include implementing a structure and framework to roll out to the wider group. Design and deliver an effective crisis management plan and implementation with training of senior communicators within the businesses as required. Contribute to the development of corporate narrative and messaging for proactive activity, leading the development of associated collateral and content, including the annual report and accounts Provide counsel to senior management on aspects of communications, support senior business leaders through briefings and coaching.Qualifications, Experience & Skills Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience: Graduate in a relevant marketing related subject or a post graduate marketing qualification with at least 10 years Marketing and Communications experience. Experience leading a multi-faceted matrixed function in an international business. You are likely to have worked in a corporate communications role at group level for a business in a similar or related industry, along with a demonstrated track record of success and performance. Superb communication skills. Expert in editorial view: Great eye for a story and the creative flair to tell it compellingly. Strong experience with creating and tailoring content for diverse audiences using a variety of digital channels Meticulous attention to detail in spelling and grammar and be confident in proofing and editing copy. Demonstrable content creation skills both online and offline in various formats Media trained and has acted as a spokesperson (highly desirable) Experience of generating, editing and publishing various forms of content across multi-media Experience working in social media across all platforms in a professional environment Competent user of Wordpress, Google Analytics, Microsoft Office Suite, (Kentico and Adobe Creative Suite would be desirable)Job Specific Skills: Essential You have very strong numerical and analytical skills to measure activity and drive performance as well as solid digital experience and capability, across all channels You are an outstanding communicator, both written and verbal. You have the ability to take complex ideas and turn them into a simple narrative that engages audiences at every level. You have strong B2B experience working in complex markets and being able to simplify as well as gravitas with internal stakeholders and the ability to have robust and difficult conversations Experience of complex stakeholder management The ability to work with agility and at pace accelerating progress You have a good balance between strategy planning and hands on delivery. You are creative outside of the box and an innovative thinker Team player who can demonstrate collaboration You can lead and manage projects with an ability to multitask to prioritise work and deliver to challenging deadlines, with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
