Summary: The purchase ledger assistant has an important role within the finance team in maintaining the trade purchase ledger. The role supports the wider finance team and the buying and operations teams. In this role, you will have ownership of queries, trade invoices and general administrative duties. We are looking for someone who can come in and hit the ground running, adaptable to change and able to identify new ways of working to improve systems and processes. Role Responsibilities: Entering invoices and credit notes to the purchase ledger accounts for multiple entities Ensuring internal controls are maintained for all purchasing procedures Processing weekly Excel reports Reconciling supplier statements on a weekly basis Contacting suppliers for missing invoices/credit notes Processing BACS payment runs on multiple banking platforms Setting up new suppliers on the finance system Processing monthly staff expenses Maintaining relationships with suppliers by resolving any queries as quickly as possible. Qualities and Skills Required: Basic Excel skills, with the ability maintain the integrity of spreadsheets. High attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), building stakeholder confidence through regular and clear dialogue. Experience working within multi-site or multi-entity organisations. A hard worker with a great work ethics and positive mindset. Good systems experience, ideally Sage50 and Xero that will be replaced with SAP BYD
