QUALITY ENGINEER - Northampton, Permanent Do you have a minimum of 5 years experience working as a Quality Engineer within a precision engineering environment? Are you a certified ISO9001 auditor? EMBS Engineering have been tasked by our client to identify a Quality Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis, located at their site in Northampton. Our client is a reputable precision engineering company that specialises in the manufacture of complex, machined components for lucrative customers including Aston Martin, McLaren and Bentley just to name a few. Due to continued growth of the business and following new additions already into the Quality department, they are looking to further expand the team by recruiting a dedicated Quality Engineer who will work alongside the current Senior Quality Engineer. Primary objective is to assure the conformance of both bought-in and in-house manufactured components as well as creating and recording quality documentation to ensure that Alcon meets its customers requirements. This role is a dynamic and versatile role which will offer autonomy and the opportunity to express yourself as a Quality Engineer. Due to the size of the company, the ideal person will be fluid in their thinking, open to performing various responsibilities and have a teamwork mindset. Key Responsibilities include: Assist with the preparation of APQP and PPAP for new and existing projects as required by Customers Prepare templates and relevant quality documentation. Review the documents links and correlation. Record information into the existing quality system. Generate inspection reports via Visual IPI. Documentations include: 8D, ISIR, Control Plan, Process Flow Chart, In Process Quality Check, Quality Care Point, FMEA, Packaging Instruction, Process Description, MSA studies Concern Management Liaise with Production to ensure product manufactured internally meets engineering specification. Resolve quality problems that arise during production. Working closely with manufacturing management and supervisors, to support the implementation of and adherence to laid down processes. If inspection activity identifies a non-conformance, take rapid steps to initiate corrective action and prevent recurrence. Use corrective action format to identify the required actions. Apply problem solving technique and drive root cause analysis with the support of the other technical, administrative, and manufacturing functions in the company. Compile Quality report on findings. Respond to customer complaints maintaining communication and reporting. Work alongside Production Engineering using Quality Tools to validate new and improved processes Perform basic manual and visual inspections Maintain the gauge management system Perform internal audits Assist with creating IMDS reports Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate: 5 years minimum experience performing a Quality Engineer position within a precision engineering market - Aerospace, Automotive, Motorsport, Formula One etc. Fully conversant with Quality Tools - Control Plans, ISIR, 8D etc. Strong knowledge of core quality tools - APQP, FMEA, PPAP, MSA, SPC ISO9001 internal auditor certification Capable of maintaining and improving QMS' Ability to create and compile FAIRs Use of Visual FAIR software - advantageous but not essential Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Knowledge of CMM In return, my client is offering; Longevity & Stability - Permanent position Competitive salary - £40,000 - £45,000 p.a Hours: 8am - 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am - 2pm Friday Modern working environment Additional benefits included If you are looking to be part of a growing team, in a busy and challenging environment, then please submit your most up to date CV to (url removed) or click to apply now!
