Rail Technician Hampshire £32,864 per annum Are you an experienced vehicle mechanic, looking to move your career into a new sector, and gain new skills? The Ideal Candidate You will be experienced in the maintenance of vehicles or material handling equipment, including fault diagnostics and modifications. Qualified to NVQ3 as a minimum. Experience and knowledge of working on and maintaining, diesel engines and associated equipment, hydraulic, electrical, PLC and electro/mechanical systems. Have experience of electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical system fault diagnosis. All rectification work shall be undertaken with a view to preventing a recurrence of the problem. Working in a highly safety critical environment, you will be required to undertake pre-employment checks including medicals, drug and alcohol screens Due to the nature of the role, we welcome applications from the ex-forces personnel, such as RAF, Royal Navy or British Army, or experienced engineers within Marine, Rail, Automotive, HGV or Bus sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to move your career towards the Rail sector! The Role Your primary duties will be to carry out the preventive and reactive maintenance on the Rail Wagons. This is to ensure the Wagons are available to for operational use by the customer. All operational and maintenance activities shall be carried out in accordance with the vehicle maintenance instructions (VMI) and established good engineering practice. Ensure that all faults, repair, and other engineering data is fed back for record purposes clearly and concisely, along with the general condition of the equipment/plant. This is a Monday to Friday role, 7.30am to 16.00pm, with occasional overtime at weekends paid at time and a half. The role will involve working outdoors in all types of climatic conditions. The Salary Basic salary of £32,864 per annum (£15.80p/h). 25 Days holiday + Bank Holidays.
