AK Teaching are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant for one of our partner primary schools in Hartlepool. The role is full-time, commencing immediately and primarily involves working on a one-to-one basis with a learner who has autism to provide the extra support he needs to succeed. However candidates with a willingness to support all learners in the class when needed would be very welcome.
The school, based in central Hartlepool, is easily accessible by public transport and have a very friendly and welcoming team. Working hours would be from 8.30am until 3.45pm.
The ideal Teaching Assistant for the school would possess a Level 2 (or ideally Level 3) qualification, although previous professional experience working closely with individuals with autism would also be considered. You should be outgoing and confident, with a caring outlook and a passion for giving the students you are supporting the best possible opportunity to achieve their potential.
As with all of our candidates, the successful Teaching Assistant must possess a DBS certificate, ideally on the updates service, or be willing to apply for one (AK Teaching can provide full assistance to achieve this). As part of our commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of young people, we would also have to obtain satisfactory references covering the last 2 years of employment.
