Veritas is seeking a Senior Principal Financial Analyst to support the calculation, forecasting and analysis of Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR).

ARR is a key metric in measuring and assessing Veritas corporate performance. This role will provide the data and analyses for driving complex long-term financial models to inform decision making by Veritas senior leadership team and support the corporate planning process. This includes analyzing quarterly results and providing strategic insights to senior management and the Board; assessing historical trends and forecasts to estimate future quarters results. The right candidate will be a team player with excellent cross-functional leadership skills.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Monitoring of key performance indicators, ensuring integrity and accuracy and reporting through visualizations to executives and cross-functional teams
  • Design and development of reporting solutions for internal business users
  • Ad hoc analysis and management reporting
  • Creation and update of executive presentations
  • Identification and implementation of process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations
  • Analysis of results, including identification and resolution of data anomalies, variance analysis & commentary, identification of trends and recommendations
  • Working closely with the business groups throughout Finance and Operations to analyze data, results, and forecasts
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field required
  • 5+ years of experience in an FP&A role or similar function with an emphasis on modeling/aggregating data to produce insights
  • Familiarity with software industry metrics (bookings, ARR, churn, attach rates, average contract length)
  • High aptitude and excellent analytical skills for complex problem solving and financial modeling, complemented with a strategic mindset
  • Superior attention to detail, demonstrating high levels of consistency and accuracy in work
  • Extremely driven and flexible individual looking to expand their skill sets and role; a self-starter who is comfortable acting with limited direction and oversight
  • Good understanding of fundamental finance and GAAP accounting concepts
  • Ability to partner well, both within the internal Finance team and other functions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey financial concepts to both financial and non-financial audiences
  • High proficiency with Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint
  • Prefer working knowledge of Alteryx, Oracle R12, and Hyperion applications
  • Preferred Alteryx Designer knowledge
  • Working CA PST time zone in preferred, but remotely is available
