This particular client I am recruiting for are looking for a Service Manager to join the business. Working as the service manager, you will manage the day to day operations of the marine service department and support the Operations Manager to deliver the strategy outlined in order to grow the business significantly. HSB Technical's client is a well-established and highly regarded entity within the maritime industry. Ability to: • Brief all staff daily to ensure that they are clear on what is expected of them on a day to day basis and ensure they have a full understanding of the job and job pack they receive for each job • Ability to organise labour for several jobs running concurrently and to re-organise swiftly and efficiently as circumstances demand. • Create and maintain processes for service procedures and site work • Create, maintain and manage good working relationships with customers and suppliers • Ensure timely response times to customers in standard and non-standard hours • Prepare quotations in line with company authority levels for sales of equipment and service • Ensure profitability targets with respect to quotations and labour utilisation are met • Ensure service reports are issued on time, are accurate and consistent in format • Attend customer visits as required • Production & Project planning • Regularly review work plans to ensure labour utilisation • Hold regular communications with all internal and external customers. • Be responsible for team submission of KPI reports on a weekly basis • Contribute to meetings for performance and utilisation levels • Produce accurate costings for the provision of invoices to customers • Provide technical support to both customers and employees • Contact engineers on site and discuss with workshop personnel daily to receive progress updates • Develop continuous improvement in all operations, processes and policies, manage and increase efficiency • Keep up to date with technical developments within the industry • Manage, train and motivate directly reporting staff according to company procedures, policy and employment law • Ensure that resource and staff appraisals are carried out according to Company guidelines and in accordance with the schedule • Ensure that work standards comply with the requirements of the QHSE systems • Help maintain the accreditations and make sure all employees are conversant with the QHSE system • Ensure the cost effective use of effective sources of goods, services and hired equipment • Ensure Service Level Agreements are met with all customers • Responsibility to fully understand work scopes as required by customer and OEM, and accurately quote and manage major engine overhauls • Profit delivery in accordance with budget expectations • Ensure targets outlined in the business plan are met • Appraisals to be conducted annually Skills Required: • The understanding of a service engineers role and responsibilities • Medium and High Speed engine and ancillary equipment knowledge • Man management skills including recruitment, motivation, training and development • A proven track record in marine management • Marine and Offshore industry experience; and customer contacts • QHSE knowledge • Commercial Experience • Ability to react positively to rapidly changing scenario s • Applications engineering skills, specifically to plan and undertake engine replacements and renewals • Propulsion system knowledge and experience • Preparation of technical tenders • Ability to make difficult decisions in relation to organisation and deployment of workforce • Team Lead Qualifications/Documents/Other Requirements: • Driving Licence • Non-restrictive passport • Flexible to travel This vacancy is being advertised by HSB Technical Ltd who have been appointed to act as the recruitment consultancy for this role
