The Senior Accountant is responsible for the financial data collection, performance analysis, and timely closing and reporting per the corporate closing schedule. The Senior Accountant will ensure that all financial and accounting policies are consistently and accurately implemented and reported with strict adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required. MBA or MPACC degree a plus. CPA or CMA designation preferred.
3-5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment required, 3+ years' experience in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
Previous experience with ERP systems SAP. Advanced, proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis in Excel a plus.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communications, organization, presentation, interpersonal, and project management skills. Must be able to multitask and work well in a team environment as well as independently.
Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare all financial activities including specified entries/requirements for monthly close out process
Review and analyze
inventory, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regard to cost
analysis and profitability.
Provide proactive financial
support and analysis for plant management and operations finance team
Prepare and report variance
analysis and account reconciliations, recommend ways to reduce costs
Maintain and process
capital projects and fixed asset including budgeting, project accounting,
reporting and disposals
Update and monitor standard
costs as required
Prepare documentation for
Participate in and ensure
proper controls for monthly physical inventory counts
Supports annual budget process
and conduct special projects as required
Ensure timely submission,
accuracy, and validity of financial data to management
