Are you looking to work as a Teaching Assistant with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? About the role You will be working under the guidance of the teacher to support and ensure students with SEND have the best possible experience in lessons in a caring and respectful environment. You must have the ability to inspire and develop pupils in all areas of learning and achievement, a commitment to contributing to school life and community, and have a passion for learning and raising standards. Previous experience of working with children with SEND is preferred but not essential and other backgrounds will be considered. About the school We work with a variety of schools across South Tyneside who cater for children and young people aged between 2-19 years whose special needs cover a broad spectrum of medical, physical, social, emotional and moderate learning difficulties. Every school aims to allow each pupil to develop their full potential, not only academically, but as independent citizens, in a positive, caring and supportive environment. The role is full time: 8:30-4pm. Requirements To be considered for the role of Teaching Assistant for SEND Education you will: Have a calm, patient and empathetic nature Have a desire to engage and support children and young people in learning and education. Previous experience of working in an educational or care setting with children, young people or vulnerable adults with learning difficulties. Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Experience of working with young people with learning difficulties (education, coaching, care settings) Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.
