This is a great opportunity for a multi-skilled IT Business Analyst to join the IT Team of a public sector body who are embarking on a three-year transformation of learning and development supporting the construction engineering sector and the career paths of hundreds of thousands of people. Reporting to the CIO, you will play a central role in defining the technical, data and service platforms on which that transformation can be delivered and will suit individuals who would like to migrate to a future Product Owner role. Remote working with occasional travel to Herts. Up to £50,273 (£43k plus £7,237 car allowance) and benefits. Infrastructural Renewal is a three-year, IT project to transform ECITB's core enterprise system which administers the grant, levy, learning, product management, and licensing processes which are central to our purpose of developing the engineering construction workforce of Great Britain. The purpose of the Technical Business Analyst (Infrastructure Renewal) role is to:

  • Project manage and facilitate Discovery sessions with internal and external stakeholders and subject matter experts. The focus of Discovery will be on understanding our core as-is processes and data and designing the to-be processes, journeys and screenflows that will replace them.
  • As Product Owner, work with business and technical stakeholders and developers to guide, prioritise and maintain the strategic and security integrity of new functionality.
  • From the second year of the project, acquire citizen-development skills on the chosen platform and develop branches of functionality with the support of the vendor's specialist development team.
  • Upon project completion, work with internal and external stakeholders to provide an on-going change design, development, and delivery function.

  • Expert facilitation skills and experience of running discovery workshops.
  • Commitment to user-centric design principles and appreciation of fundamentals of UX and UI and journey mapping.
  • Experience of defining product backlogs, EPICS, User Stories and other forms of requirement documentation.
  • High level of communication, facilitation, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Good understanding of Agile principles and practices.
  • Experience of working in a technical BA role.
  • Familiarity with design and build of data structures using SQL Server.

In return you can expect to receive a competitive salary in the region of to £50,273 (£43k plus £7,237 car allowance) plus the following:

  • 25 days holiday per year rising to 30 days during first 5 years' service.
  • Contributory Defined Contribution pension scheme. Employee contributions range from 4.5% to 8.5% of salary. Company contributions are matched.
